These terms and conditions apply to the use of this Starless River website. Please read through the terms and conditions. If you do not agree with the terms and conditions do not use this Website. If you do access the Website, and /or place an order, you thereby agree to be bound by these terms and conditions set out below.
How to Order:
All orders can be placed online through the Website. Please do not e-mail your card details. No responsibility can be taken for the security of your details if given this way. All orders subject to availability.
Acceptance of Order:
No order placed by you shall be deemed to be accepted by Starless River until a written acknowledgement of your order is issued by Starless River or (if earlier) Starless River delivers the goods to you.
Method of Payment:
You can pay either by VISA, AMEX, Master Card, Switch, Maestro, Electron, JCB or Eurocard. We also accept payment by cheque but an order will not be processed until the cheque has arrived and cleared into the Starless River bank account.
When paying with a credit card please ensure that the cardholder’s name and address are entered as it is shown on the card statement. No responsibility is taken by Starless River for incorrect or incomplete details entered on the website and these orders will not be processed. We will take payment in GB pounds and your payment card will be charged accordingly at the exchange rate determined by your card supplier. Once we have confirmed your card details and the details of the order your card will be charged for the goods and delivery charges. Goods are subject to availability and in the event that we are unable to supply the goods we will notify you immediately and provide a full refund of any charges made for these products
Prices on starlessriver.com may vary on occasions from those found in our other publications and third party websites. Starless River is not responsible for the content, including prices displayed, of external internet sites.
If we discover an error in the price of the goods you have ordered we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. Prices shown other currencies are provided as a guide only.
We aim to dispatch goods in stock as quickly as possible. The maximum period of delivery would be within 30 days, unless specifically agreed with you the customer. We undertake to inform you of any subsequent change to the delivery time.
At this time we are unable to deliver to PO Boxes, so any delivery to such an address will not be able to be processed.
In the event that your order hasn’t arrived within a reasonable period of time please contact us. You will need to provide us with full details of the order.
Deliveries to Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Liechtenstein will require a personal ID number supplied for each dispatch in accordance with EFTA.
Return of Goods Policy:
Goods can be returned, within 14 days after receipt of goods, for a full refund (including delivery charge) if they are faulty, if their description on the website was misleading, or if the wrong item has been dispatched. In this event, simply email us at email@example.com and we will provide further return instructions.
Goods that have been dispatched as ordered but are unwanted can be returned, within 14 days of purchase, for refund or replacement. In this case any delivery charges are non-repayable
All items must still be unused, have their original packaging and labelling, and be accompanied by the original delivery note. Nothing in these conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer. The card used for the purchase will be credited with the original purchase amount (less any delivery charge paid where appropriate.)
We aim to meet The Distance Selling Regulations and subject to the provisions of our returns policy outlined above, every customer has the right to cancel their order within 7 days of receiving the goods.
Errors and Omissions:
We strive to keep our website and publications accurate, up to date and error free. However, whilst every effort has been made to make them so, no responsibility can be accepted for errors and omissions. We reserve the right to alter our prices and specifications without notice.
Data Protection and Privacy:
Caving and other outdoor activities can be hazardous. The selection and use of suitable equipment for particular tasks and climate conditions does require skill and knowledge. It is the responsibility of the individual to ensure that they are properly trained and equipped for the chosen activity. Once purchased, equipment should be used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, should be inspected before use, and should be properly maintained including thorough periodic inspection.

The Courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all claims or disputes arising in relation to, out of or in connection with this Website and its use and these terms and conditions.
We aim to deal with all complaints as effectively as possible. In the first instance, your complaint may be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will aim to acknowledge an email complaint within three days.
