Wetsocks, Kneepads, and Wetsuits

Here is the kit to maintain comfort in cold and wet caves, and which are particularly useful in the UK, which specialises in such conditions! As well as the wet socks and knee pads which nearly every serious caver will use, we keep a stock of more specialised kit for the aficionado of true grimness; neo-fleeces and wetsuits of various thicknesses. All of our neoprene products are sourced from Warmbac, a British company with a reputation for quality, and assured standards of employee care; not necessarily the case with all neoprene-using organisations.

Warmbac Warmtex adjustable elbow pads
£26.40

Warmbac Warmtex adjustable elbow pads

Warmbac Warmtex adjustable elbow pads. High spec, tough elbow pads. The outside is coated with very high durability warmtex material. Sharkskin internal surface for improved friction to keep pads in place, plus velcro adjustable straps for precise fit; a surprisingly solid arrangement.
Warmbac Warmtex adjustable knee pads
£39.60

Warmbac Warmtex adjustable knee pads

High spec and very tough knee pads. Outer surface coated with very durable warmtex material. Inner surface is higher friction double diamond neoprene. Fully adjustable Velcro straps provide a surprisingly solid attachment - also proof against muddy caves. Good for those with odd shaped legs, divers wearing drysuits, and those with bad backs who can't be bothered to fight kneepads over wellies, every trip. Top tip: glue a *small* patch of spare neoprene (part of an old wetsock, perhaps)on the inside of the kneepad, as soon as you can after purchase. Just enough to cover the lower joint, not so much as to cause the kneepad to become inflexible and gape at the sides (which would allow gravel in). Your knees will love you for it in future years!
Warmbac Divers Vest
£57.00
:

Warmbac Divers Vest

Warmbac Divers Vest Wetsuit vest in 2mm neoprene with 5mm neoprene hood attached. Durable zip side opening. Designed to team with the Speleo Pro wetsuit to create a system suited for classic British 'amphibious' trips, involving both significant caving plus less deep / prolonged diving. Also can be used to upgrade the warmth of other semi-dry suits - the attached hood reduces flushing and thus heat loss. Relatively small and light, making it easy to carry to dive sites, or during prolonged journeys between aqueous bits.
warmbac neoprene patches
£2.50

warmbac neoprene patches

Warmbac 5mm neoprene. Suitable for patching suits, pads etc. Best used with an appropriate glue such as the Warmbac 125mm tins. Supplied in batches of c. 30cm by 30cm.
Warmbac 2.5mm hood
£23.40
:

Warmbac 2.5mm hood

Durable 2.5mm neoprene hood, flexible and comfortable for caving use. Not suitable as a stand - alone for cold water diving, but perfectly suitable for ducks and free-diveable sumps in the UK. For caving it is generally advisable for the size to be a little big, rather than a little small, for ease of breathing and movement while exercising. Available in sizes S - XL.
Warmbac Neofleece
£105.00
:

Warmbac Neofleece

A versatile caving undersuit suit in 3mm neoprene plus warmbac fleece material. Basically, a thin wetsuit to just above the knee and elbow joints, with fleece lower arms and legs. Knees and elbows in double fleece material (and sewn in neoprene pads) for durability and extra protection, heavy duty front zip fastening. Suitable for wet trips and those who feel the cold in water. The neofleece is specifically designed for use with an oversuit. Has been successfully used for the Long Round trip, and - very brief - cave dives to c. 6m
Warmbac Speleo III
£110.40

Warmbac Speleo III

Well made, high quality wetsuit specifically designed for caving. Made of 3mm neoprene with a heavy duty, two way front zip fastening - much better for coping with overheating or the call of nature! Intended for us with an oversuit to protect the neoprene but this may not be required in large and low-contact caves. Suitable for occasionally very aqueous trips, and the more 'athletic' stream caves, particularly if swimming is expected and extra buoyancy is helpful. This was used in 2014 for the stream passages in BU56, as it was warm enough for use in deep and cold water, but flexible enough for lots of uphill walking plus some SRT, which went on for many hours at a time. Used in combination with the Warmbac Divers Vest for very short or warmer cave diving; a very versatile and effective combination. Sizes 38 - 48 available, we carry these as stock but may need to order in small or very large sizes. Made in the UK, in Glastonbury
Warmbac Cavers Wetsuit
£158.70
:

Warmbac Cavers Wetsuit

Well made of durable 4.5mm neoprene, the Cavers wetsuit is ideal for significantly wet trips and sporting stream caves, or where swimming is expected. The mauser-stitched seams reduce water flushing through to make a good, warm suit. The zip is of very high quality and should last as long as the suit does! The fact that it is at the front, unlike in surfing wetsuits, adds significantly to comfort. Sizes 38 - 48, generally we will order these in. Made in the UK in Glastonbury
