Scurion Speleo 1500 with 4 Cell Battery
The original high quality, high tech, and *very* bright caving lamp. Maximum output is 1600 lumens: 800 on spot (level 4), and 800 on flood (level 4). The 1500 will last nearly 3 hours on this setting. One medium setting (level 2 spot, level 2 flood) will give around 24 hours light, which is a long day's caving! Lowest setting (level 1 spot or flood *only*) will give in the region of 160 hours. The Scurion website gives the full matrix of brightness against duration. The Scurion 1500 has a particularly tightly focussed spot, making it very useful for rigging (both finding it, and creating it) and also for spotting up avens. The flood LED is set at 15 degree depression, very comfortable for walking along big passages. Bright for the UK (but a real treat!) and a useful expedition tool, for exploration and photography. The 1500 has the heavy duty alloy battery case, and the same non- magnetic aluminium headset as the rest of the range. It uses the standard battery (with plug connector) This 1500 steries is supplied with one battery. The 1500 is fully waterproof but is *not* depth rated. It will cope with any wet cave, and (we would suggest, although this is not from the manufacturer) it will cope with as much free diving as normal caving mortal can manage. If you are anticipating getting really, really submerged, we suggest that you check that O rings are clean and lubricated (silica gel comes with the lamp for this purpose), and cable glands on wires entering the battery case are tightened up. Cree XM-L LEDs used, the Li-ion cells are Panasonic or similar high quality units. Charger is smart and maximum charging time is 5 hours. We will send all Scurion lamps INSURED!
