Scurion BASIC 700
A high quality, high tech, bright and versatile caving lamp. Maximum output is 720 lumens: 360 on spot (level 4), and 360 on flood (level 4). The Basic will last over 7 hours on this setting. One medium setting (level 2 spot, level 2 flood) will give around 53 hours light. Lowest setting (level 1 spot or flood *only*) will give in the region of 210 hours. The Scurion website gives the full matrix of brightness against duration. The Basic has a new, lighter, reinforced plastic battery case, and the same non- magnetic Aluminium headset as the rest of the range. It uses the new battery module with gold-plated contacts. This is the same battery as used in the Dive model. It is rated IP67, waterproof to -1m. It will cope with any wet cave, and free dives such as Swildons' Sump 1, but is *not* diveable. As the picture shows, the Basic comes with an additional connector (that normally sits inside the helmet)that allows a 110cm cable extension to be added, if the Basic is to be used as a head torch, or on the bike mount. The cable extension may be purchased separately. Cree XP-G LEDs used, the Li-ion cells are Panasonic or similar high quality units. Charger is smart and maximum charging time is 5 hours. The Basic 700 is currently available in BLACK.
