Beal 6mm Accessory cord
£0.84

Beal 6mm Accessory cord

Very suitable to make prussik loops, lanyards for tackle bags, and mounting the Raumer etrier steps. Suited for low angle deviations especially with well placed lighweight rigging. Has been used in footloops, but lack of durability is a serious issue. If weight is such a consideration, the Alp Design dyneema footloop is massively superior. Static load 910 kg
Beal 16mm nylon tubular tape
£1.44

Beal 16mm nylon tubular tape

Beal 16mm nylon tape. General purpose full strength tubular tape, supplied by the metre in up to 100m lengths. Strength 1350kg Remember that if you make slings out of this, the only recommended knot is the tape knot, and with a good long tail left on each side...there is always some slippage of these knots under initial tension.
Pure Dyneema 5mm, per metre
£3.60

Pure Dyneema 5mm, per metre

Pure Dyneema cord, 5mm, from Beal.Sold by the metre Strong and very static accessory cord, used for ultra-light rigging and making footloops. Also invaluable for use with Amarrage Souples. Weighing only 15g per metre, it has a strength of 12KN, and 15KN as a sling. Dyneema has quite low friction, and therefore must always be tied with an appropriate knot if a sling is being made. The book 'The Technical Caving Manual' and also the ‘Cave Rescuers’ Manual’ have some of the latest reliable information on dyneema’s multiple uses, not least as they are based upon both research and considerable experience,
Nylon tape sling, 18mm,120cm long
£5.70

Nylon tape sling, 18mm,120cm long

Nylon tape sling, sewn. Made by Lyon equipment. Sewn sling for general rigging applications. Full strength, 18mm tape in black with red fleck. The length refers to the usable length i.e. what you see when you stretch it out, not the radius. This 120cm length is what would be called a 'four foot sling'. Strength 25kn.
Petzl Fin’ Anneau Sling, 8mm, 180cm long
£15.00

Petzl Fin’ Anneau Sling, 8mm, 180cm long

Light sling which is abrasion resistant, due to the integration of dyneema into the construction. It is a very compact piece of kit for rigging, or to carry as a personal item to facilitate progress or improvised rescues. Weight, around 50g, breaking strength 22kN. Conforms with CE EN 795B
C. C. 8mm Type L cord
£1.20

C. C. 8mm Type L cord

An 8mm, and therefore clearly lighweight cord that has been used for very lightweight rigging, conforms to the EN564 standard for 'Type L' rope. Nonetheless we term this a 'cord' rather than a 'rope for SRT'... Also suited as a deviation cord, doubled as a rigging sling, and to make footloops. "The rope must never rub, and lightweight rope even more so!" - Alpine Caving Techniques, 3rd edition. Breaking load 1700kg, elongation under 150kg load is c.6.5%
Beal Antipodes 8mm, 50m Length
£66.00

Beal Antipodes 8mm, 50m Length

An 8mm, and therefore clearly lighweight cord that has been used for very lightweight rigging, conforms to the EN564 standard for 'Type L' rope. The breaking load is 1800kg; it will accpet two Factor 1 Falls; and the weight per metre is 41g. Flexible, comfortable to use (disengage unhelpful imagination) and allowis deep caves to be tackled by small and expert teams. Clearly, a rope best used with well-maintained descenders and positive braking krabs such as the Raumer Handy. "The rope must never rub, and lightweight rope even more so!" - Alpine Caving Techniques, 3rd edition.
Beal Spelenium Unicore 8.5mm, 100m Length
£162.00

Beal Spelenium Unicore 8.5mm, 100m Length

Beal Spelenium 8.5mm is a premium lightweight, sheath-core bonded rope. This means that both elements of the rope are joined, vastly reducing slippage in the event of the outer sheath being rubbed through; also if cut using a sharp blade, it frays a lot less than most caving ropes. The rope is light (49g per metre), supple and soft. It conforms with EN1891B (ie it is a Type B rope). Breaking load is 2000kg and it will stand seven Factor 1 Falls when new. As with the 8mm cord, this is a rope most suited for experienced parties with well-maintained descenders and effective braking krabs. Currently this rope is in a 100m reel. If you want 200m, just contact us!
Gleistein Geostatic 9mm, 100m Length
£180.00

Gleistein Geostatic 9mm, 100m Length

A very high specification 9mm semi static rope, which conforms to the Type A standard for working ropes (EN 1891A) German manufactured, light and long term flexible, the shrinkage is approximately 7%, and the weight 54g per metre. Breaking load is tested to 2700kg. An ideal rope for personal use where cavers want to treat themselves! Gleistein has particularly gained a following among instructors, who generally use Type A ropes but prefer not to be heavily laden with the bulkier and heavier 10mm standards. This rope is currently kept on a 200m reel, so if a length greater than 100m is required, buy two batches and ask for the rope to be provided as one length.
