Caving Technical Guide
The latest thinking on caving, and especially vertical caving, from the FFS of France.
These are people who do a lot of vertical work! And as such all of their conclusions and advice are worth serious consideration. A lavishly illustrated and well translated book, covering: equipment, progression techniques; planning; rigging; rescue; and many more things beside.
It is very up to date, and while less utterly comprehensive than Alpine Caving Techniques, some of the ideas are newer, and the layout and presentation appears much more user friendly for those teaching the information contained. Not a replacement for ACT but very definitely a useful adjunct; and perhaps more appropriate for those approaching the subject for the first time?
Soft cover. 256 pages. Full colour illustrations.
