Our scruffy packaging
You may have had the experience of ordering your lovely new caving gear from us and when it arrives, thinking “Shiny caving gear, horrible scruffy packaging”. Let me explain.
We try to reuse as much of the packaging that we receive as possible. So if we get, say, 10 lights wrapped in bubblewrap, that bubblewrap is going to get reused for the next however many orders that need a bit of TLC in the package. Bubblewrap is plastic and the less plastic we use in the business, the better. The same goes for cardboard boxes – this is why the cardboard box you get may look a bit, um, preloved. So long as the kit is safe, we trust you to understand what we are up to.
We used to have a sticker that said “Starless River reuses packaging”, by way of an explanation for the shabbiest of the parcels, but Tony says there is not very much point trying to save the environment by using extra stationery and ink producing little labels. And he is of course right.
And finally it helps us keep the prices down for you – the customer.
